Karnal, July 12 -- Karnal deputy commissioner (DC) and district election officer Anand Kumar Sharma has suspended 12 booth-level officers (BLOs) on Saturday for alleged negligence in the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Similarly, Kurukshetra DC Vishram Kumar Meena took action against a BLO of booth number 104 of Thanesar assembly constituency. The suspension orders, issued by the district administration, cite failure to discharge responsibilities seriously. The order also alleges negligence in carrying out duties related to the voter list revision exercise. Officials said that of the 12 suspended, nine were posted in the Karnal assembly constituency and three in the Gharaunda assembly constituency.
