Dehradun, July 15 -- The Uttarakhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Tuesday published the draft electoral roll for the state under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. The draft features 7,133,785 electors, meaning more than 826,000 voters - or over 10% of the state's estimated 7.9 million total voters - are currently missing from the roll. The draft roll comprises 3,723,614 male, 3,409,954 female and 217 third-gender voters. Officials said they have digitised the enumeration forms of 7,133,785 electors, representing 89.61% of the state's 7,960,762 voters. The remaining 826,977 electors fall into the uncollectable or unverified category and will be covered during the notice phase. Addressing a press conference at the media centre here, additional chief electoral officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande said officials conducted the revision exercise under the leadership of Uttarakhand chief electoral officer Dr BVRC Purushottam, following directions from the Election Commission of India (ECI). Jogdande said the revision used July 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. Staff completed the distribution and digitisation of enumeration forms between June 8 and July 7, while the number of polling stations in thestate increased from 11,733 to 12,543. Jogdande said the ECI has opened the period for filing claims and objections from July 14 to August 13 through Forms 6, 7 and 8. Officials will issue and dispose of notices between July 14 and September 11, and publish the final electoral roll on September 15. These notices will be issued to electors identified across three categories: those flagged with anomalies, those whose records contain discrepancies, and cases arising from claims and objections received through Forms 6, 7 and 8. He added that although 7,133,785 voters are included in the draft roll, anomalies have been identified in around 1.9 million entries.
