Chandigarh, Oct. 6 -- Another accused was arrested on Sunday night in connection with the murder of a man in Daria, police said. The accused has been identified as Suraj. The crime took place on August 31 when the victim, Pawan, along with his friends, had gone to Hotel Legacy in Daria village for a party. Pawan's brother Suraj (namesake of accused) of New Indra Colony, Manimajra, stated in his police complaint that Monu alias Kandu, Subhash, Suraj alias Jatua, Govinda, Mahavir and Malkit alias Kaka arrived in a Scorpio and a black Thar car with the intention to kill them. The FIR stated that Pawan and the complainant were travelling in their respective vehicles. The accused allegedly rammed their Scorpio into Pawan's vehicle and thereafter the black Thar came at high speed hit Pawan and Suraj. The accused fled. Pawan was taken to GMSH, Sector 16, where he was declared brought dead. The complainant was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh. Shubhash, 25, of Badal Colony Zirakpur and Monu Jaswal, 26, of Hallo Majra were arrested on September 2. Sahil, 23, and Mohammad Kaif Khan, 23, both of Ram Darbar, were arrested on September 4.
