1 booked for stealing Rs.60k from Kalka shop
Panchkula, July 1 -- Police booked an unidentified person on Saturday for allegedly stealing Rs. 60,000 from a shop in Kalka's main market, with the entire incident being captured on CCTV.
The theft took place at Shanti Trading Company. According to complainant, Harish Goyal, the accused stole the cash from the shop's cash counter after taking advantage of an opportunity. According to details, the incident occurred on the intervening night of June 26 and 27.
Goyal said the CCTV footage clearly shows the suspect committing the theft.
However, despite several days having passed since the incident, the accused remains at large.
Acting on the copmplaint, police seized the CCTV footage and launched a probe.
A police officer at Kalka police station said an FIR has been registered under Sections 305 (theft), 331 (trespassing) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused based on the CCTV footage and other available evidence....
