'One project gave me what 40-50 films couldn't'
India, Nov. 4 -- A
ctor Rajat Bedi is enjoying a new wave of recognition following his comeback in Aryan Khan's directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. After years away from the spotlight, the actor says the response has been overwhelming, prompting him to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and Vindhyachal Temple in Mirzapur to express his gratitude.
"I am amazed when people, especially the younger lot, recognise me, when they want pictures and autographs. There are crowds now. I look at everyone and think, 'Wow, is this really happening to me?'" he tells us, adding, "I've done so much work earlier but never got the recognition. But the tables have turned, and I got everything in one project that I didn't get in the last 40-50 projects. It's very heartwarming."
Calling his temple visits a way of thanking the divine, Bedi says, "This year has given me so much, so I decided to answer this spiritual calling and seek blessings at all the places I can reach." On visiting Vindhyachal, he adds, "Jab tak mata ka bulawa nahi aaye aap wahan nahi jaa sakte."
Recalling how Aryan approached him for the series, Bedi says, "I was shocked, excited, ecstatic, and humbled." What stayed with him was the filmmaker's assurance: "Sir, I've written this role for you, but it's okay even if you don't want to do it."
With a film and an OTT series lined up for 2027, Bedi is looking forward to his next chapter. "I have got good stories to get back on the set precisely for 2027. So, I am keeping my fingers crossed," he signs off....
