India, July 26 -- Adding to India's excitement over its first medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan shares his thrill about performing at the closing ceremony on August 2. "To be selected among so many talented musicians and singers, yeh mere liye bahut hi badi baat hai. What makes it even more special is that I will be performing with both my sons (singers Siddharth and Shivam Mahadevan). We're all having butterflies!" says the 59-year-old. Giving us a sneak peek into what his performance holds for the big day, Mahadevan reveals, "We've been curating a setlist that truly represents our country and its athletes, including tracks like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Lehra Do. But the biggest highlight would be the recreation of the iconic Vande Mataram track (originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar), which will also feature (actor) Rashmika Mandanna's performance." Speaking of the flag handover ceremony to India planned for the day, for the 2030 centenary edition in Ahmedabad, Mahadevan calls it a "milestone" moment for the country. "It's a significant step towards the sporting legacy that is set to unfold in our country next. It is also why we've decided to conclude our performance with the song Sunno gaur se duniya walo," he adds. Mahadevan and his team are set to reach Glasgow on August 1....
