Pratyusha Banerjee's mother reacts to Rahul Raj Singh's acquittal: Usko chodhna nahin hain

en years after actor Pratyusha Banerjee died by suicide, the Bombay High Court on Wednesday discharged her then-boyfriend, actor Rahul Raj Singh, from the case concerning abetment of suicide. Pratyusha, best known for the show Balika Vadhu, was found dead at her flat by Rahul on April 1, 2016.
Speaking to us about the verdict, Pratyusha's mother, Soma Banerjee, says, "Usko chodhna hain nahin, yeh toh galat hai! Session court mein already hai case; how can this verdict happen? How can he be released by calling him innocent? Koi saboot nahin dekha, kuch nahin."
Soma adds that she was present at the hearing with her husband, Shankar Banerjee, who left midway. Discussing their next course of action, she says, "Bharosa hain judiciary pe, or else we wouldn't have waited for 10 years. I am discussing with my husband and legal team on what our next step should be."
The case dates back to April 5, 2016, when Soma filed an FIR against Rahul, accusing him of abetment of suicide, assault and criminal intimidation. In its latest order, the HC considered the transcript of the final phone conversation between Pratyusha and Rahul, observing that it showed Rahul trying to dissuade her from taking an extreme step....
