India, June 8 -- Actor, lyricist and playwright Piyush Mishra's recent trip to Delhi turned nostalgic as he visited his alma mater, National School of Drama. Walking in the familiar campus, where he graduated from in 1986, brought in a rush of memories. Mishra, 63, recalls, "Bahut bhayankar memories hain yahaan ki. Un 20 saal mein jo kaam kiya maine Delhi mein, with no expectation of doing cinema, having fame or money. bahut productive kaam tha wo. Mandi House is like a pilgrimage for me." While his memories are dominated by the work he did on stage, Delhi also has a personal connection to him. "Waise to sab memories kaam ki hain, aur koi aisi romantic memories nahin hain meri. Par woh alag baat hai ki meri biwi se meri wahin mulaqaat hui thi," he smiles. Mishra met his wife, architect Priya Narayanan, because of a play, and recently on June 1, the couple celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. He shares, "Priya padhti thi School of Planning and Architecture mein in ITO. Wahan main 1992 mein play direct karne gaya tha. Unse mulaqaat hui, aur ishq ho gaya. Humne 1992 se 1995 tak date kiya aur fir '95 mein shaadi kar li." Meanwhile, the artiste is happy seeing the theatre culture in Delhi still being as lively and active. "Bhale hi log cinema ke laalach mein bhide hue hon, lekin engrossed hain woh, aur lagaatar theatre kar rahe hain. Ye achhi baat hai," he ends....
