India, July 1 -- R ecently, actor Satendra Soni, known for Laapataa Ladies (2024) and the web series Hello Bachhon, shared a video on Instagram alleging that he was threatened and denied payment by filmmaker Pushpendra Singh after completing eight days of shooting for Pedh Palki in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh. Following the allegations, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has sought an FIR against Pushpendra. Speaking to us, Satendra recalls that he was hired on the assurance that his payments would be made during the shoot. "Pushpendra said that he and his wife (Pragti Chauhan) were the co-producers of Pedh Palki, and he is the director as well. I joined the film at Rs.30,000 per day - a total of Rs.3 lakh for 10 days - and received Rs.50,000 in advance. We were promised that payment aati rahegi during the shoot, but that didn't happen. So I said I would not continue shooting until my payment was cleared." According to the actor, the situation escalated soon after. He alleges that Pragti began "abusing and hitting" him. "Maihar police got involved... later, the police arranged for us to travel back to Mumbai from Madhya Pradesh," he says. The 26-year-old maintains that his decision to speak out was driven less by the payment dispute and more by the alleged harassment he faced. "Mere paise ko lekar ladai nahin hai! Mere saath jo maar peet ki gayi, woh galat hai. Isliye maine awaaz uthayi. Main dara hua hoon!" he concludes....
