Sri Lanka, April 16 -- A young man who transported firearms for Jayalath de Silva, alias "Karandeniya Sudda"-a known criminal gang member and drug trafficker-was arrested in the Wanduramba area along with a weapon.

The Galle District Crimes Division made the arrest following the receipt of information. After the suspect was taken into custody, police recovered a 9mm firearm that he had buried.

Investigations reveal the suspect's involvement in several crimes, including transporting firearms used for the killing of a couple inside a shop in the Kumara Kanda area last year, the killing of a manager named Kosala at a business establishment in Ambalangoda, and a shooting incident involving a Wagon R vehicle.
