Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- The World Bank has endorsed $110 million in financing to restore and rebuild 600 kilometers of roads across Sri Lanka that sustained severe damage during Cyclone Ditwah.

Channeled through the International Development Association's Crisis Response Window, the funds will focus on routes linking vulnerable communities to schools, healthcare facilities, and marketplaces. The reconstruction work will implement climate-resilient engineering, such as advanced drainage systems and landslide protections, designed to endure future extreme weather events.
