Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- COLOMBO, September 30: The World Bank has approved $110 million to help Sri Lanka repair and reconstruct 600 kilometres of roads severely damaged by Cyclone Ditwah.

The financing, provided through the International Development Association's Crisis Response Window, will prioritise roads that restore access to markets, schools and health facilities in communities most severely affected by the cyclone.

Reconstructed roads will be built to climate-resilient standards, incorporating improved drainage systems, landslide protection measures and updated engineering to withstand extreme weather events that are becoming more frequent and severe.
