Work underway to improve emergency units in 82 hospitals
Sri Lanka, Aug. 23 -- The Ministry of Health states that work is currently under way to improve emergency treatment and primary care units in 82 base hospitals selected under provincial councils and the central government.
The Ministry mentioned that this is expected to be carried out under a new project scheduled to be implemented under the Asian Development Bank.
These details were revealed yesterday (22) during a one-day training programme on emergency care services held at the auditorium of the Chilaw District General Hospital for staff engaged in emergency treatment services in base and regional hospitals as well as primary care units in the Puttalam District of the North Western Province.
