Sri Lanka, Oct. 2 -- Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa set to arrive at the Central Crime Investigation Bureau this morning to provide a statement for an ongoing investigation regarding alleged contempt of court remarks.

The Attorney General informed the court that the former minister made statements amounting to contempt of court during a rally held by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in Anuradhapura, prompting the Central Crime Investigation Bureau to launch the investigation following a court directive issued to the Inspector General of Police.
