Sri Lanka, June 13 -- Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that people in the country are currently living under very difficult conditions.

Speaking to the media after attending the "Mehewaraka Pranama" event held today (13), the former President made these remarks.

"I don't think people are even in a position to afford their daily meals now. We have the strength. If power is given to us, we will show what we can do," he further stated.
