Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- Warrants were issued today (16) to arrest and produce in court former Sri Lankan star cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife Priyangi Anushka Wijenayake, who appeared as bailsmen for a suspect in the case related to alleged financial irregularities in purchasing new aircraft for SriLankan Airlines.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued the order.

These warrants were issued because the bailsmen, Aravinda de Silva and his wife, who placed bail for Priyanka Neomali Wijenayake, wife of the late former Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines, Kapila Chandrasena, failed to appear before the court today (16).
