Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- Warrants issued for the arrest of former Sri Lanka super cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife Priyanka Anushka Wijenayake were recalled today (17).

Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena issued the order after considering facts presented by President's Counsel Nalin Ladduwahetty that the clients were unable to appear in court due to attending of the mother's funeral.

The pair stood as sureties for Priyanka Neomali Wijenayake, the wife of the late former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena, who is a suspect in a case involving alleged financial irregularities in re-establishing a new wide-body aircraft fleet for SriLankan Airlines.
