Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- A private media organisation's camera operator was arrested today (1) at the Slave Island police station when he arrived to give a statement regarding an incident in which he allegedly struck a security officer belonging to former president Ranil Wickremesinghe using his camera.

The arrest took place when he reported to the police following a summons issued yesterday (30).

Police stated that the cameraman had arrived at the police station accompanied by an attorney.
