Veteran singer Priyankara Perera passes away
Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- Veteran singer and actor Priyankara Perera passed away last night (01) at the Colombo National Hospital after a period of illness, at the age of 64.
He was the eldest son of late veteran singer Milton Perera and the brother of singer Chalaka Chamupathi, gaining immense popularity during the cassette era and the 1980s and 1990s in the local music scene.
His popular musical creations included songs such as "Ran Pokunen Diya Nagena Ennnee", "Sihina Devduwe", "Pissu Vikare", "Agadha Sagaraye", "Samana Ve Epadi Divi Thalave", and "Pera Athmayaka Eka Rathriyaka".
His remains will be placed at a private funeral parlour in Colombo today (02), and funeral arrangements will be announced later, according to his wife, veteran...
