Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- Veteran music producer and prominent businessman Ananda Ganegoda passed away at the age of 80.

He stepped into the cassette music industry in 1980 through the 'Sing Lanka' cassette production institution.

Throughout his career, he contributed immensely to the production of songs for a vast number of renowned vocalists, including Pandith W. D. Amaradeva, Sangeeth Nipun Professor Sanath Nandasiri, Dr Nanda Malini, Visharada Gunadasa Kapuge, Visharada Malani Bulathsinghala, Professor Dayaratna Ranatunga, Clarence Wijewardena, Sunil Edirisinghe, T. M. Jayaratne, Neela Wickramasinghe, Mariazelle Goonetilleke, Desmond de Silva, Nihal Nelson, Karunarathna Divulgane, Malkanthi Nandasiri, and Deepika Priyadarshani.
