Sri Lanka, March 3 -- The Colombo High Court announced today that the judgment for four cases against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena will be delivered on April 30.

High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal decided after both parties concluded their oral submissions. The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed these cases during the previous administration, alleging that the former official caused financial losses to the state. The charges stem from 2006, when he served as Chairman of the National Lotteries Board and allegedly incurred losses through the procurement of vehicles on a rental basis.
