Vehicle number plate printing resumes after a year-long suspension
Sri Lanka, June 8 -- Official printing of vehicle license plates, halted for over a year, officially resumed this morning (08) under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways, Dr. Prasanna Gunasena.
The operations restarted at the printing section established within the Motor Vehicle Inspection and Training Center of the Department of Motor Traffic in Werahera.
Printing operations were temporarily suspended following the conclusion of the official contract period in April last year for the private company that handled domestic vehicle plate printing for 22 years.
Efforts are now underway to expedite the printing of license plates for all vehicle categories, including motorcycles, three-wheelers, cars, vans, and buses,...
