Sri Lanka, March 1 -- The Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Dr Arusha Cooray, has called for calm among the Sri Lankan expatriate community following recent regional developments. Reassuring the 350,000 Sri Lankans living in the Emirates, Dr Cooray highlighted that UAE authorities have implemented a "comprehensive security infrastructure" designed to maintain normal life and protect all residents.

According to Dr Cooray, the UAE Ministry of Interior has confirmed that the national defence system is operating at the highest level of readiness. The measures include round-the-clock monitoring and an intensified deployment of security teams in vital areas across the country.
