Sri Lanka, Sept. 21 -- Two fishermen stranded on a day fishing vessel in the northern seas off Mannar were safely rescued yesterday (21) in a special operation coordinated by the Colombo Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre, the Navy said.

The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources informed the Colombo Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre that the two fishermen who went to sea from the Gurunagar Fishing Harbour in Jaffna the day before yesterday (19) in the day fishing vessel "IDAY - A - 0126 JFN" did not return to the fishing harbour.
