Sri Lanka, Nov. 4 -- Two individuals were arrested in Negombo on suspicion of involvement in a pyramid financial fraud.

The suspects were apprehended yesterday (3) following an investigation into a complaint received by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division, police said.

Investigations began regarding the operation, promotion, advertisement, funding, and management of a pyramid financial institution.

The arrested suspects, aged 45 and 59, reside in Thimbirigaskatuwa and Negombo, police added.

The Financial Crimes Investigation Division is conducting further investigations into the incident.
