Sri Lanka, March 4 -- Police arrested two individuals during separate raids conducted last night (03) in the Rotumba and Urubokka areas for possessing fuel without valid licenses for sale.
Rotumba Police Officer-in-Charge Senaratne directed a raid in the Dampahala, Narampala area following private information, leading to the arrest of one suspect.
Officers seized 19.5 liters of petrol stored in 26 bottles. Police suspect the resident intended to sell the fuel at inflated prices.
In a separate incident, Urubokka Police arrested a 55-year-old farmer from the Koppakanda area in Omalpe for possessing 25 liters of petrol without a permit.
