Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- Veterinary officers conducted medical treatment for the third consecutive day today (26) on the tusker known as 'Kavantissa', who has been roaming in the Galgamuwa area of the North Western Province.

The treatment is being administered for an injury sustained to the elephant's front right leg, led by medical officers from the Nikaweratiya Veterinary Unit.

Officers from the Galgamuwa and Meegalewa Wildlife Offices are maintaining close oversight of the tusker, while officers from the Meegalewa Police have provided assistance to control individuals obstructing the treatment process.
