Sri Lanka, March 10 -- The foreign travel ban previously imposed by the Magistrate Court against former Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, Dhammika Ranatunga, is being fully lifted.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodharagama announced this decision today (10) regarding a case filed by the Bribery Commission over corruption allegations.

The ruling followed a request by the suspect's lawyer to temporarily lift the ban for personal travel.

During the proceedings, the Magistrate noted that because indictments have already been filed in the High Court and Magistrate Court proceedings are concluded, the travel ban originating from this court is being completely removed.
