Sri Lanka, March 3 -- A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) will soon be a mandatory requirement for several essential services following the passage of the Inland Revenue Amendment Bill, according to government sources.
Individuals will need to present this certificate when opening accounts at financial institutions, obtaining approval for building plans, and registering or renewing motor vehicle licenses. Additionally, the documentation is required for the registration of land or any transfer of property ownership.
