Sri Lanka, May 28 -- The Sri Lanka Police Headquarters says three people have died following three separate motorcycle accidents reported yesterday (27) in different parts of the island.

The accidents were reported from the police divisions of Batticaloa, Bingiriya, and Polonnaruwa.

In the Batticaloa police division, a motorcycle accident occurred yesterday evening on the Batticaloa-Thiruppanthur inter-road near an Air Force camp. The rider, who sustained serious injuries, died after being admitted to Batticaloa Hospital.

The accident occurred when the motorcycle, travelling towards Thiruppanthur, went out of control and veered off the road into a lagoon.
