Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- Three people including a police officer died yesterday (27) in three fatal motorcycle crashes that occurred in several areas of the island.

A rider died at the Homagama Hospital in a crash caused when a motorcycle that went out of control collided with a wall in the Liyanwala area on the Godagama - Padukka road.

The deceased is a 54-year-old police constable attached to the Borella Police Station who resided in the Homagama area.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle veered off the road and collided with a culvert post near the 2nd milepost on the Nochchiyagama - Kukulkatuwa road, injuring the rider and pillion rider who were admitted to the Nochchiyagama Hospital.

The 53-year-old motorcyclist died there.
