Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- Key discussions centred on developing Sri Lanka's mineral sector in alignment with the 2026 National Mineral Policy took place during a special meeting chaired by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat today (31).

Officials from the Sri Lanka Mineral Sands Association (SLMSA) and the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau participated in the conference, which focused on mineral exploration, extraction, and value-addition processes, the President's Media Division stated. The meeting included broad deliberations on steps required to systematically leverage the island's mineral resources to boost the national economy and increase export earnings.
