Sri Lanka, Feb. 28 -- A dispute between two friends escalated into a violent confrontation in Akkaramale, Payagala, resulting in one individual being hospitalised with severe injuries.

Payagala Police arrested the suspect involved in the incident, which occurred around midnight yesterday (27).

The altercation began when the victim approached the suspect's residence, leading to a heated argument that turned physical.

During the clash, the suspect allegedly attacked the other individual with a sword.

Onlookers immediately rushed the injured man to the Kalutara Nagoda Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The arrested suspect is a 40-year-old resident of the Payagala area.
