Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- A male and female suspect were arrested by the Hali-Ela Police this morning (14) for abandoning a four-year-old girl in Mudunegammedda road in Yatirawana, Wattegama yesterday.

Information reveals that the arrested female suspect is the mother of the girl, while the male suspect is allegedly her partner in an extramarital affair.

The suspect couple is scheduled to be transferred to the Wattegama Police for further investigations.
