Sri Lanka, April 18 -- A suspect who aided and abetted the attempted shooting of 'Podi Patti', the brother of an alleged organised criminal 'Loku Patti', is in custody.

The Police Media Spokesperson's office stated that Special Task Force officers from Ahungalla arrested the individual last night while he was hiding in a lodge in the Hegalla area of Kosgoda.

Officers found ice narcotics in the suspect's possession at the time of the arrest. The individual is a 45-year-old resident of Pitigoda, Kosgoda.

The attempted shooting occurred the day before yesterday near the Lokanwatta cemetery in Ahungalla, where a T-56 assault rifle was used to target Podi Patti while he traveled in a three-wheeler.
