Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- A total of 107 individuals aged between 15 and 24 were diagnosed with AIDS last year, according to sources from the Ministry of Health.

In response, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has taken steps to cover the expenses incurred for AIDS testing under the 'Suraksha' student insurance scheme implemented for school students.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education stated that a circular regarding the matter has been issued to inform provincial education authorities, piriven heads, and principals of both government schools and government-approved private schools.
