Sri Lanka, July 1 -- Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe ordered the further remand of Sugeeshwara Bandara, leader of the New Peoples Front and former personal secretary to former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, until July 8.

The magistrate announced the decision to issue an order regarding bail on that date.

This ruling followed submissions made by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau regarding allegations of receiving salaries for two positions under the presidential expenditure head.
