Sri Lanka, March 10 -- The law will be strictly enforced against children under 18 who drive motorcycles, three-wheelers, and motor cars without licenses, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Traffic Control and Road Safety, W.P.J. Senadheera, stated.
Legal action will also be taken against parents who provide vehicles to these minors.
Between the start of the year and the 8th of this month, 457 fatal road mishaps occurred, resulting in 475 deaths.
The Traffic Control and Road Safety Division noted that during the same period last year, there were 50 incidents involving 56 fatalities.
