Sri Lanka, April 2 -- Two students identified as pupils of St. Sylvester's College, Kandy, met with a severe road collision near the Rathmaloya bridge in Pallekele at approximately 6:30 AM today (02). The Grade 13 students were traveling to the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium to assist with organizing the annual Big Match against Vidyartha College.

The duo served on the event's security committee and were heading to the venue early to manage ticket inspections and student entry. Their motorcycle collided with a private bus traveling from Digana to Kandy. One student died at the scene, while the other remains in critical condition within the Intensive Care Unit of the Kandy National Hospital.
