Sri Lanka, Aug. 8 -- Senior Superintendent of Police Shani Abeysekera, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

This promotion is effective from August05, 2020, Police Media Spokesperson ASP F.U. Wuttler stated.

Meanwhile, the Police transferred several senior police officers subject to the approval of the National Police Commission.
