Sri Lanka, March 16 -- Sri Lankan marine biologist Asha de Vos was honored on the opening day of the United Nations General Assembly, where her portrait was displayed on the main silver screen to mark International Women's Day and the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women.

The portrait, taken by photographer Bre Hartman, was featured as part of a campaign by the President of the UN General Assembly highlighting women who have broken barriers and achieved success despite significant challenges.
