Sri Lanka, March 9 -- The Department of Export Agriculture plans to establish 200 spice-related cluster villages within this year, with the inaugural ceremony scheduled for tomorrow (10).
Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation K.D. Lallkanth will preside over the launch at the Dadigama Primary School auditorium in Kegalle.
This initiative operates under the national "Export Agriculture Excellence" programme.
Additional Director General of the Department of Export Agriculture, Upul Ranaweera, stated that the project focuses on processing export crops to meet international market demands and maintaining high quality.
It also emphasises developing spice products unique to specific regions.
