Sri Lanka, June 29 -- The Poson Full Moon Poya Day, which commemorates the Dhamma mission of Arahant Mahinda Thera in establishing the Buddha Sasana in Sri Lanka, stands as a sacred day reminding the nation of spiritual awakening, wisdom, and social harmony.

Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya stated this in a message issued for the Poson Full Moon Poya Day.

The Prime Minister noted that the occasion signifies more than a religious observance in Sri Lankan history, serving as a symbol of transformation for the culture, moral way of life, and thinking of an entire nation.
