Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- Inflation in Sri Lanka rose to 8.3% from the 8.0% recorded in September, according to the Colombo Consumer Price Index, the Department of Census and Statistics stated.

According to the latest data released by the department, inflation in the food category also increased to 8.8%.

Furthermore, inflation in the non-food category increased to 8%.
