Sri Lanka plans aviation training hub amid global skills shortage
Sri Lanka, Aug. 18 -- Sri Lanka prepares to tap into growing global demand for skilled aviation personnel as the international aviation industry expands significantly over the next decade, creating a worldwide shortage of qualified workers, according to deputy civil aviation minister Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku.
Countries globally gear up to meet expected workforce demands as the sector enters a major boom period, noting that international interest centers on preparing educational programs to address the anticipated shortage while local authorities implement measures to expand training opportunities and encourage aviation careers.
