Sri Lanka, Oct. 10 -- Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath has held discussions with Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Wei Huaxiang on strengthening bilateral cooperation and preparations to commemorate two significant milestones in Sri Lanka-China relations in 2027.

The meeting focused on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 75th anniversary of the Rubber-Rice Pact, which laid an important foundation for economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and China.

The discussions highlighted the significance of the anniversaries as an opportunity to celebrate the longstanding friendship between the two nations and further strengthen bilateral ties.
