Sri Lanka, Nov. 7 -- A 50-year-old specialist doctor attached to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital died following a head-on collision between a car and a tipper truck on the Minneriya-Habarana main road yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:00 PM when the doctor's car collided directly with the oncoming tipper truck.

The specialist doctor, a resident of Polonnaruwa, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Habarana Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.

The exact cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

The body of the deceased remains at the Habarana Regional Hospital and is scheduled to be transferred to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital for a post-mortem examination....
