Sri Lanka, April 13 -- Sufficient buses remain in operation today (13) for people travelling to their hometowns for the upcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year, according to the Sri Lanka Transport Board.

The National Transport Commission informed Hiru News that nearly 230,000 passengers utilised public transport services to leave for their villages between the 8th and yesterday (12). Director General of the Commission, Nilan Miranda, stated that necessary transport facilities are properly implemented for the public returning from their hometowns.

Special train services are deployed for people returning after the New Year season, with the Railway Department further noting that additional trains are added to the coastal line.
