Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- A special meeting of the Ampara District Human-Elephant Conflict Management Committee was held at the Ampara District Secretariat under the patronage of Minister of Environment Dr. Dammika Patabendi, aimed at providing swift and sustainable solutions to the escalating human-elephant conflict across the district.

During the meeting, steps were taken to formulate necessary legal and administrative measures to control the irregular entry of cattle into forest reserves in the Ampara district and to systematically remove cattle currently remaining within these reserves.
