Special CoPF meeting tomorrow on missing treasury funds
Sri Lanka, June 7 -- A special meeting of the Committee on Public Finance is scheduled to be held tomorrow to discuss the incident involving the disappearance of US$ 2.5 million belonging to the Treasury.
Recently, a report prepared by the Ministry of Finance on the matter was submitted to the Committee on Public Finance.
However, when the report was delivered to the residence of Committee Chairman Dr Harsha de Silva, he reportedly rejected it and returned it, stating that it should be officially submitted to Parliament instead of his private residence.
Accordingly, further discussions on the matter are expected when the Committee convenes tomorrow.
